Busy Memorial Day Weekend for Dale McDowell and Team Dillon Racing

May 29th, 2016 - Kicking off the action-packed Memorial Day weekend, Team Dillon Racing traveled to Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia) on Friday with Dale McDowell and Ahnna Parkhurst in the driver’s seat. In a field of forty-six cars for the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals event, McDowell cruised to heat race win earning him a 6th place starting spot for the feature. Advancing three positions in the $4,000-to-win event, Dale notched a 3rd place finish behind Mike Marlar and Donald McIntosh with Riley Hickman and Jason Hiett rounding out the top five. Starting in 9th for her Crate Late Model feature, Parkhurst held her spot for the entire distance recording a 9th place spot.

On Saturday night the Spring Nationals followers headed to Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia) for another $4,000-to-win feature. Posting the fastest time in his group, McDowell locked his spot into the feature. Scoring a runner-up finish in his dash behind Mike Marlar, Dale earned a front row starting spot for the A-Main starting alongside Marlar. Losing one spot in the 40-lapper, Dale McDowell scored another 3rd place finish behind Marlar and Casey Roberts with Derek Ellis and Austin Smith trailing them to the checkers. Following the 8th fastest time in a field of twenty-nine, Parkhurst was slated to start on the 4th row of the feature.  After running into troubles early in the event, Ahnna held on to a 7th place finish.

Closing out the three-day weekend, Team Dillon Racing stopped at Rome Speedway (Rome, Georgia) for the Spring Nationals series season finale. Cruising to another heat race win, McDowell earned a 6th place starting spot for the $6,000-to-win A-Main. Breaking into the top five, Dale registered a 4th place finish behind Jonathan Davenport Casey Roberts, and Jason Croft with Jason Hiett coming in 5th. Ahnna timed in 11th out of field of twenty-four, setting her up with a 11th place starting spot for the feature. After working her way up to 6th, Parkhurst ran into a big pile-up bringing an early end to her night.
