UP & DOWN WEEKEND FOR MCDOWELL IN FIRECRACKER 100

1June 30th, 2012 - The finale for the 6th Annual Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pennsylvania) was held on Saturday night as a $30,000 winner's check was posted. Dale McDowell opted to pilot the #41 Team Dillon Racing Warrior Super Late Model instead of his customary #17m. Heat race line ups were determined by a driver's best finish in either Thursday or Friday night's program, so Dale started fourth in the first heat race before recording a third place finish to lock into the eleventh starting spot for the 1000 lap finale.

As the feature went green McDowell quickly worked his way into the top ten before progressing toward the top five. By the time that the checkered flag dropped he was credited with a fifth place finish behind race winner, Scott Bloomquist, Darrell Lanigan, Tim McCreadie, and Shane Clanton.
