AUSTIN DILLON RETURNS TO DIRT LATE MODEL & OPEN WHEEL MODIFIED ACTION
1July 15th, 2013 - Austin Dillon entered the opening round of the Southern Nationals at Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Virginia) on Monday evening. He started the night by blazing to fast time honors around the 1/2 mile oval to earn the pole position for the feature event. He would run at the front of the pack in the 3rd position until late in the race, when his right-rear tire blew, resulting in heavy damage to his car. He retired to a 10th place finish.

1July 9th, 2013 - For the first time in over a month Austin Dillon returned to the cockpit of his #3 Team Dillon Racing/Warrior Super Late Model with a trip to Tri State Speedway (Haubstadt, Indiana) for a $5,000-to-win, UMP Summernationals event at the 1/3 mile oval.

With 28 competitors in action Austin transferred to the 14th starting spot for the 40 lap feature via preliminary action. He would go on to advance six spots on his way to an 8th place finish at the checkered flag.

On Tuesday night Austin was pulling double duty between between the Super Late Model and Open Wheel Modified 1divisions as he went into battle at Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky). With 33 Super Late Models on hand for the $5,000-to-win, UMP Summernationals event Austin qualified second fastest in his group before charging to the heat race win to lock into the redraw for the feature. After receiving the 3rd starting spot for the 40 lapper, Dillon raced at the front of the pack throughout the event before registering a third place finish behind race winner, Scott Bloomquist, and Shannon Babb.

In the Open Wheel Modified division Austin took the #62 Two Brothers entry into war, and via preliminary action he earned the 14th starting spot for the feature in his first Open Wheel Modified start since Volusia Speedway Park in February. He would go on to advance ten spots to a 4th place finish. Overall it was a great night for the team.
