TEAM DILLON RACING TACKLES WoO ACTION IN ILLINOIS, WISCONSIN, & IOWA

1August 5th, 2013 - Dale McDowell entered the opening round of the 26th Annual USA Nationals on Thursday evening at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) as a $6,000-to-win, World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model event was contested.

Fifty-two drivers registered for battle, and Dale finished 2nd in his heat race to lock into the 7th starting spot for the feature. He would race in the top ten early in the event before his night came to an abrupt end on lap 18, when a small fire under the hood of his entry forced him to quickly pull to the infield and exit his car. He was uninjured but done for the night with a 22nd place finish.

Friday night found preliminary action being held for the $50,000-to-win finale, and struggles in time trials left McDowell starting deep in his heat race grid. He advanced to a 5th place finish in the heat, which left him short of transferring to the feature. B-main action on Saturday evening again found him short of earning a transfer spot to the feature, but a win in the last chance race locked him into the 23rd starting spot for the feature. With an ill-handling car he retired early from the feature to a 27th place finish.

The extended weekend concluded on Monday evening at Independence Motor Speedway (Independence, Iowa), where a $10,000-to-win, WoO show attracted a field of 32 entries. McDowell fell short of locking into the feature via heat race action, but a win in his b-main positioned him starting 17th on the grid for the 50 lap finale. In the feature he went on to race his way through the pack to an 11th place finish.

1July 30th, 2013 - Team Dillon Racing traveled to Shawano Speedway (Shawano, Wisconsin) on Tuesday evening for a $10,000-to-win race with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Models. Thirty-three Super Late Models entered the program, and a 5th place finish in his heat race transferred Dale McDowell to the 15th starting spot for the feature. Unfortunately he would encounter rear-end woes early in the feature before retiring to a 22nd place finish on lap 7.

1July 27th, 2013 - There's not many tracks in this country that Dale McDowell hasn't raced upon at least once, but over the weekend he did just that by competing at Fairbury American Legion Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois) for the first time ever.

McDowell and Team Dillon Racing took part in the 24th Annual Prairie Dirt Classic, which was sanctioned by the World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Models and posted a $20,000 winner's check. With 52 entries in the pits McDowell set fast time in his group on Friday night before blazing to his heat race win to lock into the redraw for Saturday night's finale.

In the redraw he was the recipient of the 2nd starting spot alongside Billy Moyer. As the race went green McDowell bolted to the lead and maintained the top spot until lap 29, when Bobby Pierce slipped past. Over the next several laps McDowell would slip back as far as the 5th spot before mounting a late-race charge to challenge Pierce and Shannon Babb for the lead. The trio battled three wide over the closing laps of the event with McDowell finishing a close second to race winner, Babb.
