BAD LUCK FOR TEAM DILLON RACING AT 7TH ANNUAL WORLD FINALS
1November 9th, 2013 - The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway (Concord, North Carolina) played host to the 7th Annual World Finals over the weekend.

The World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Models drew a field of 74 entries to the state-of-the-art, 3/8 mile oval, and Thursday's program was highlighted by two rounds of qualifying that set the heat race line-ups for Friday and Saturday night.

Struggles in the first round of qualifying on Thursday night left him starting 7th in his heat race on Friday evening. Dale went on to advance to a 5th place finish, which left him two spots short of a transfer to the feature. As a result he started 4th in a b-main and would battle for a transfer spot for much of the event before falling one spot short with a 3rd place finish. As a result his night came to an early end.

The team hoped for better luck on Saturday night, but it would be another night of bad luck for McDowell. After starting deep in his heat race grid Dale only passed a few cars, which left him starting 7th in a b-main. He mounted a great charge in the b-main to challenge for a transfer spot before a mechanical failure forced him to retire with just a few laps remaining in the consolation event as his disappointing weekend came to an early end.
